I bought this ancient Quan Yin statue from a collector about 22 years ago. I assume she is Chinese and I have no real information about her except for what we can see. I bought her because I was drawn to her calm demeanor and her beautiful texture coming from her age.
Quan Yin is the female form of the Buddha of Compassion, 'compassion' meaning 'to feel with', to have empathy. It is our experiencing difficult (and wonderful) times in life that give us the ability to empathize with others, so one does not feel alone. This is also what is meant by "Quan Yin hears the cries of the world". She hears us like a good friend would. This Quan Yin statue has clearly had a long life and many experiences and I have no doubt that she has empathy for the struggles of all of us.
She is 8 1/2 inches (21cm) tall.
She can be shipped internationally via EMS for the Fed Ex price.
