Luang Prabang, Laos. Chilly early mornings spent sitting on a stool Khao Soi Noodle Shop next to her cooking fire, eating the best noodle soup in Southeast Asia, followed by fresh baked croissant at Le Banneton Cafe, and Saffrons excellent coffee. Finally ready to start the day, we would go in search of weavings, that is, that is, back in the days when we could safely travel. One textile we have tucked away in our collection and now want to share is this Hmong textile with its intricate hand done embroidery, indigo batik work, ready to use with hemp cloth backing and loops for hanging. It would also make a beautiful altar piece behind your Buddha or on top of the altar. Or simply a beautiful wall hanging anywhere in your home. The detail of the embroidery is quite extraordinary and we love buying directly from the Hmong people and supporting them any way we can and hope to be able to visit them again soon.
